In a post some time ago I cited this article which is a collection of Tweets based on the Obama "Hellthcare" bill in the House. After doing my own checking, as well as reading some other views, I have found that some of the lines cited in these Tweets are exaggerated or untrue. Because I am an intellectually honest person, unlike Obama, I wanted to publish a retraction. This article is a fact check of a few of the lines. I still oppose this bill on principle and feel it would be a terrible mistake. I still contend that this plan is merely a stepping stone to government control of healthcare. While some of the purported atrocities within the bill are exaggerated or false, some were also true or partialy true. The language of the bill tends to be obscure or written in "legalese" which explains some of the misinterpretations. I apologize for the mistake. I was on vacation and being lazy. I will certainly be cross referencing my sources more completely in the future.

More Hellthcare Reading

For all those in favor of turning health care over to our ultra-efficient,
ultra-responsible federal government, you might want to take a minute to grasp
exactly what this will mean for you if you’re ever faced with a catastrophic
The concept of “care-rationing” is happening in socialized medicine
countries all over the world to deal with limited resources and increased
demand. As it currently stands in this country, health care revolves around you,
the patient, who gets to decide what you want to pursue based on your own
resources, desires etc..
Under a government-controlled health care system,
the onus would be on the federal government to decide what they want to pursue
on your behalf in terms of treatment for any type of illness. The government
will decide literally if it is worth providing you a treatment based on your
age, life expectancy and a whole slew of other variables. If you don’t pass the
cost-benefit analysis, you will probably not get the care you need despite your
own potential ability to pay for it yourself.
Professor Stuart Altman
explains touches on this concept and how “cost-benefit” analysis will become
necessary under an Obamacare plan:

President Obama’s
rhetoric last night summoned the memory of “1984,” George Orwell’s novel of a
nightmarish future — where the slogan of the rulers is “War is peace; freedom is
slavery; ignorance is strength.”
The president assures us that he will cut
health-care spending . . . by adding $1 trillion to health-care spending.
says that “health-care decisions will not be made by government” . . . while he
sets up a new Federal Health Board to tell doctors what treatments they can
offer and to whom and under what circumstances.

Let us for a moment adopt the proposition that health care is in fact a “right,” as pretty
much every liberal politician has told us for at least a generation. Now let us
consider how
President Obama’s proposed health-care bill would work. Under
his plan, an official body — staffed with government doctors, actuaries,
economists, and other experts — will determine which health-care treatments,
procedures, and remedies are cost-effective and which are not. Then it will
decide which ones will get paid for and which won’t. Would a 70-year-old woman
be able to get a hip replacement, or would that not be considered a wise
allocation of resources? Would a 50-year-old man not be permitted an expensive
test his doctor wants if the rules say the cheaper, less-thorough one is
sufficient? The Democrats call this “cost-controls.” But for the patient and the
doctor, it’s plain old rationing.

Fact vs. Obama

FactCheck .org, non-partisan group takes apart Obama's news conference.

Hurray for Prez's Healthcare Scam

Read this

Can you believe the arrogance? Obama thinks Americans are stupid. That may be true of most of his voters, but most Americans are not stupid and most Americans did not vote for him. His press conference tonight was boring and incoherent. Either this guy is an idiot, or he is completely disconnected from reality. The healthcare scam is going to be an ugly mess. I hope it fails. I really hope people wake up and stop this madness. Obama is all about control. He wants the government to control every aspect of our lives. He wants us to depend on government, thus creating an entire class of democrat voters sucking on Uncle Sam's teet. Where is the freedom and liberty that was the promise of America? Where is the common sense? Our Founding Fathers would be ashamed. They would be furious. Not at Obama. But at us. We allowed this madness by not paying attention. We slept while the wolves devoured the Constitution and destroyed our freedom. Wake up! This is just another step towards tyranny. Wake up now before it is too late.

The US Government Caused Global Economic Crisis

I know I didn't waant to post while on vacation, but it this report from the House of Representatives admits the government's role in causing the economic crisis we are in. Now we are repeating the same mistakes again, only at a even greater scale. Everyone should read this report. The media will not cover it.

The Role of Government Affordable Housing Policy in Creating the Global Financial Crisis of 2008
STAFF Report Date: JULY 7, 2009
Committee on Oversight and Government Reform U.S. House of Representatives 111TH CONGRESS
Ranking Member Darrell Issa (CA-49), REPORT
INTRODUCTION:The housing bubble that burst in 2007 and led to a financial crisis can be traced back toFederal government intervention in the U.S. housing market intended to help provideHome ownership opportunities for more Americans. This intervention began with twoGovernment backed corporations, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which privatized theirProfits but socialized their risks, creating powerful incentives for them to act recklesslyexposing taxpayers to tremendous losses.
Table of Contents:
1. EARLY History of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
3. The Politicization of Mortgage Lending
4. Clinton Administration Reforms – CRA and the NationalHomeownership strategy
5. Lower Lending Standards SPREAD AND cause theHousing Bubble
9. Fallout: taxpayers pay for Fannie’s and Freddie’s Binge on Risky Mortgages10.Learning the Right Lessons:Conclusion
Washington must reexamine its politically expedient but irresponsible approach to encouraging higher levels of homeownership based on imprudently small down Payments and too little emphasis on borrowers’ credit worthiness and ability to repay their loans. Unfortunately, very few elected officials would be comfortable echoing Yale University economist and housing expert Robert Shiller, who writes: The sub prime housing dilemma in the United States points up the problems with Over-promoting homeownership. Homeownership, for all its advantages, is not the ideal housing arrangement for all people in all circumstances.” However, failing to learn the mistakes of our overleveraged binge on mortgage debt will almost certainly doom the country to repeating the same mistakes again and again.

So anyway I am on vacation so I do not think I will posting again anytime soon. Seriously though Hawai'i is beautiful and I truly enjoy it here. However, what's with all the "9-11 was an inside job" stickers some crazy nut job placed on a bunch of stop signs? Also, I know Obama is from Hawai'i (supposedly) but if I see one more stupid Obama t-shirt or beach towel I am going to throw up my lau lau.

Celebrate Independence Day

"Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."
--Leviticus 25:10 Inscription on the Liberty Bell

There are 56 signatures on the Declaration of Independence. They came from all walks of life. They were brilliant men. The were enlightened men. But they were still just human. If you think your voice doesn't matter, think again. These 56 brave souls took something divinely inspired and not only challenged an empire, they also changed the world. Of the 56 that signed 5 were captured, tortured, and executed by the British as traitors. There were 12 signers who had their homes burned to the ground. Many of them fought in the War for Independence and 9 died. They all knew that by signing that declaration they would become targets. They risked their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What are you willing to risk? We are at a similar crossroads in history. Our fate may be decided by only a handful of people. Let's make sure we are those people. The government we have now is a shadow of its former self. It is no longer based on the concepts our Founders intended. It is a corrupt and decadent cesspool of favor, greed, and tyranny. Our security and freedom is a facade. If only more people realized how fragile we really are. America is so close to its demise, yet most don't care or even notice. We have before fought against terrible odds. But never before has our government been so completely at odds with its people and so thoroughly propagating the antithesis of liberty. This July 4th we must remember our Founders. We must read the Declaration and Constitution. Honor their words and the memory of those who sacrificed all to uphold those principles. Pray for our troops. Celebrate freedom and celebrate our independence. Just remember that you never really know if this will be the last Independence Day. On July 5th let's band together and renew our oaths. Reaffirm our Constitution. Reassert individual liberty. Tell the federal government to back off and put an end to the reckless power grab and spending spree. The Second American Revolution is coming and I pray that it is a peaceful one. We need to wake up the lumbering public and then awaken the arrogant and ignorant politicians that insist on driving us off a cliff. Let's remind them that they work for 'We the People' and their time is up. The 56 signatures on the Declaration of Independence were a call for liberty and the end of tyranny. Our government has become the tyranny our Founders had feared. Time to send them a declaration.

Tyranny v. Liberty

One should not confuse "classical liberalism" with "contemporary liberalism." The former refers to those, like Thomas Jefferson, who advocated individual liberty, while the latter refers to those, like Barack Hussein Obama, who advocate statism, which is the antithesis of liberty.

Excellent essay from the Patriot Post. Check it out.

Quote of the Day

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy."

--British publisher and writer Ernest Benn (1875-1954)

The Great Obama

Everyone keeps telling me how "great" Obama is. Well that's just great, but in history great men have almost always been evil or corrupt men. Just keep watching. The circus will only get worse.
